Anthony Ferruggio, (72) passed away on January 16, 2024 after battling a long illness for over 3 1/2 years. He was born into a beautiful Sicilian family in Queens, NY. Some of his fondest memories were the big family meals that took all day to eat. The diversity of living in New York City gave him so many different types cultural foods to enjoy. Consequently, he loved to eat and cook. He was a “foodie” before it was a thing. Being from Queens he knew of every good place to eat all over New York City. He especially loved to introduce his wife to different kinds of food she never had before. His best thing he made was his pasta sauce. Anthony was a very knowledgeable Rock and Roll fan but learned to love Country music. He and his wife went to many Country music festivals over the years. Which is where they both enjoyed camping. He loved to make people laugh, especially his wife. He was rough around the edges but he had such a good heart. It is that “Big” personality that will live in our hearts forever.

He is preceded in death in death by his parents, Charles and Carmela Ferruggio.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Ferruggio; mother in-law, Ruth Weigand ; brother in-law and his wife Frederick and Debra Weigand II; his wife’s niece and her husband Julie and Brandon Hoke.

A celebration of life will be planned later in the year.
