Alex Michael Hanson, aged 53 years, died peacefully on Monday, December 3, 2018 in his home under Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice’s care.  He was a lifelong resident of Rockledge, Florida, married for 27 years to Merilee Corley Hanson, and proud father to Isaac Alexander Hanson (wife Hanna Hudson Hanson), aged 22 years, and Ander Michael Hanson, aged 18 years.  His eldest son had given him a beautiful and spicy little granddaughter, Sophie Elizabeth, aged 20 months when her Papa died.
Alex graduated from Rockledge High School in 1984, then BCC with an AE degree.  He worked at McDonnell Douglas’ shoulder mounted assault weapon factory in his early 20’s, then Martin Marietta/ Lockheed Martin/United Launch Alliance for the next 26 years.  He loved working on rockets!  From the Titan to the Atlas, he was in his element and was promoted to Electrical Engineer.  He had to retire in 2012 due to Huntington’s Disease.  Complications of the disease are what finally brought him to heaven.  He had been diagnosed for 10 years.
Alex loved anything with a motor.  His hobbies included fast cars, motorcycles, ATV’s, motorhomes, travel trailers, and enjoying the outdoors.  His family was always first; he is survived by four siblings:  Eric Hanson, Krista Brewer, Aaron Hanson, and Brian Hanson.  His mother, Mrs. Nancy Baker Hanson Toole will especially mourn him.

In lieu of flowers, the familly would appreciate any donations to be made in his name to help fund research for Huntington’s Disease.  His specialty doctor was Dr. Juan Sanchez-Ramos, USF, Tampa, Florida.
