Albert “Paddy” Armitage

Albert “Paddy” Armitage, of Merritt Island, Florida, died on Friday, November 2^nd, 2018 at 11:10pm at Cape Canaveral Hospital, he was born on October 21^st 1945 in Leeds, Yorkshire. In1967 Albert married the love of his life Margaret and together they had 3 children. He served his Country as a member of the Royal Navy for 22 years. Albert worked for Westinghouse as an Engineer in Saudi Arabia and the United States of America. Albert was a very kind and compassionate man, a loving family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife of 51 years along with his family and enjoyed gardening and working on boats, Albert will be greatly missed and is survived by his brother Richard Armitage of Gosport England, wife Margaret of Merritt Island Florida and their three children, Rachel Watson, Adrian Armitage and Justin Armitage and grandchildren, Caitlin, Christian, Alex, Jamie, Emma, Sophie, Harper and Beckett.Memorial donations may be made in Albert’s name to the National Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
