Merritt Island – Sally Ileene Aderholt Smith passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 6th 2018.  She was born October 26^th 1928 in Columbia City, Indiana and grew up in Columbus OH and attended Ohio State University Art School.  Sally was a hair color model for Clairol and was an Executive Assistant when she met her late husband George in 1961. They married in Columbus, OH on June 17^th 1962 and in the summer of 1964 they moved to Willoughby OH, and in November 1972 they moved to Merritt Island, FL.  She loved being a “Homemaker” for her husband George and their children. After his passing in December 1986, she never remarried.  Since 1987 she was a very active member of Grace United Methodist Church, becoming the first female usher, President of Happiness Is group and a member of the United Methodist Women.

Sally will be lovingly remembered by her children and grandchildren:

Robert Smith of Geneva OH, his children Annemeri Smith and Karrie Smith (Howard).

George Thurry Smith II (Barbara) of Seffner FL, their children Kieran Knox, Tyler Smith, and Harlie Smith.

Bradford T. Smith (Jennifer) of Irvine CA, their children Noah T. Smith, Abigail Smith Laffitte (Michael), Audrey Smith, Kennedy Smith and Madelyn Smith.

Charlene Smith of Geneva OH, her son Robert T. Lange.

Cathlyn Smith McDonel (Brian) of Merritt Island FL, their children Jessica Vancil, Christopher McDonel Sr. (Megan), and Thomas T. McDonel (Jamie).

Grandchildren Robert Smith (Pamela), Tass Smith and 9 Great Grandchildren.

She will also be fondly remembered by her brother Robert L. Aderholt Jr. (Mary) of Kenesaw, NE.

Sally was proceeded in death by her parents Robert L. Aderholt Sr. and Ardath Ream Aderholt, her husband, George Thurry Smith, daughter Roberta Jean Smith Bachlund, son James M. Smith, and grandson Joel Castillo.
