Edward A. Gurske 94, of Cocoa
Beach, Florida (formerly Lake
Geneva, Wisconsin) passed away
early Sunday morning February 17,
2019 at Health First Hospice Cape
Canaveral Hospital.
Edward was born on September 11,
1924 to August and Anna Gurske in
Chicago, IL. He was the youngest and
only boy. He served in the US Army
during World War II. He married
Norene M. Kelly on June 3, 1950.
They raised three children, Jerome,
Patricia, and Norene. Edward served
the city of Chicago as a Lieutenant on
the Chicago Fire Department for 29
years. Edward and Norene retired to
Lake Geneva, WI. In later years they
spent the winters in Cocoa Beach, FL.
Edward’s wife, Norene and daughter
Patricia Marx, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son Jerome
(Laura) Gurske, daughter Norene
(Louis) Hyman, and grandchildren
Michael (Cheryl) Pollard and
Madeline Marx, and two great
grandchildren Jenna and Christopher
Pollard.
As per Edward’s request, a small service will be held in Lyons, WI at a later date
