Margaret F. Donald

Viera, Florida

Margaret (Peg) Donald, formally of Saco Maine, Passed away peacefully on November 13, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 22, 1921 in Newburyport Massachusetts, the daughter of John and Margaret Fearon. She was predeceased by her brother Edward Fearon and her Husband of 44 years James A. Donald

At a young age she moved to Maine and worked at the family restaurant on old route one in Arundel Maine. She graduated from Thornton Academy class of 1940. After high school she graduated from the Portland Maine Business School.  For 34 years, up to the time of her retirement, she worked as an operator for AT&T and was a lifelong member of the IBEW.

Peg was a veracious reader, sometimes finishing as many as three of her favorite romance novels a week.. Even hampered by failing eyesight, with magnifying glass in hand, she would complete the daily crossword puzzle. She was an avid sports fan, and wasn’t afraid to offer her opinion especially when it involved her New England Patriots or Boston Red Sox.

Peg loved to travel…both in the US and abroad and had lifelong friends all over the world.. She particularly enjoyed her trips to Taiwan, Germany and Greece to visit her son Tom.

She was very active in her community and participated in many organizations including the Camp Ellis Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Year after year, she worked as a volunteer at the city polling stations.  She lived life to the fullest. Her quick wit and strong mind, guided her enduring, spirited personality that will live on forever.

She is survived by her sons Thomas, and William (Jean), and a daughter Ann Dupuis (Raymond), all of Viera Florida. ….her grandchildren Kelly Powell (Brad) and Timothy (Debra), and her great grandchildren Emily, Nathan, Paige and Charlotte, whom she was affectionately known as “GG”.  She truly will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.

Per her wishes, there will be no memorial services. A celebration or her life and burial will take place at a later time in her beloved Maine.
