LINDA B. HARTLEY

Our loving friend and sister, Linda Gail Blackwell Hartley, 69, passed away on Friday, May 30th 2014, in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.A. and Edna Blackwell, and her husband,  Williard Wade Hartley. 

Born in Greensboro, N. C., Linda graduated from Walter M. Williams High School in Burlington, N.C. in 1963.  She attended Elon College before joining Delta Air Lines on September 29, 1969, as a stewardess.  Linda retired from Delta on April 1, 2001, as a flight attendant.

Upon retirement Linda continued her love of travel, especially cruising.  She created a family of friends around the world and loved spending time with them.  She also enjoyed her music, reading, and especially her pets.

 She was an active member of the Red Hat Society, Black Hat Society and Brevard Symphony Guild.   She served on the board of trustees of Grace United Methodist Church where she established the Williard W. Hartley Memorial Garden in memory of her husband.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 65 Needle Blvd., Merritt Island, Florida, on July 12th at 11am.
