Timothy Leroy Penn passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on March 23, 2022. He was born on September 5, 1964 to Eleanor (Brown) Penn in Baltimore, Maryland. Tim graduated from Joppatowne High School in 1983. After graduation Tim joined the United States Army where he was a member of 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. He achieved many awards and accomplishments in his tenure in the military. Being a Jumpmaster was the highlight of his military career. After serving our country for 12 years Tim and his family settled in Wayne County, Indiana. Tim was a machine maintenance technician throughout his civilian career and worked at Smith Dairy for 12 before moving to Melbourne, Florida in 2015.

Tim enjoyed watching his kids and many others through the years participate in various sports in the community. Tim enjoyed Friday nights watching football with family and friends. He loved sports but Football was his favorite high school, college and NFL.

He enthusiastically cheered on all his favorite teams. Tim was also a passionate fisherman. He loved to spend his mornings out on the river catching fish. He was happiest spending time on the boat with family and close friends. He recently even began building fishing poles. If he wasn’t fishing or watching football he was spending time with his family and friends. To know Tim was to love him. He was a big guy with an even bigger personality. He lit up any room with his voice, laughter, stories and love for all.

Tim was a great husband and leaves behind his wife of nearly 35 years, Julia (Devening) Penn. They wed on July 18, 1987 in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. He was an amazing father, leaving behind four children: Tabitha Penn, Timi (Mark) Black, Tia (Trevor) Thomas, and Tyler (Kristen) Penn. He was the best “Pop-Pop” to his grandchildren: Bella, Mailynn, Maleigha, Mackenzie, Luca, Trace, and Benjamin. He was also a son-in-law, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend; leaving behind a void in the hearts of many people.
