With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Katherine Ruth O’Hare, 70, of San Antonio, Texas, who left this world on February 23rd, surrounded by her cherished loved ones.

Born on December 16th in Palo Alto, Kathy was the beloved daughter of Herach and Katherine Berberian. She graduated from Foothill College and dedicated her career to finance, becoming an exceptional bookkeeper. For over 25 years, she brought her expertise and warmth to Jackson Jordan Middle School, ensuring the books were always balanced with grace.

Kathy also served as a finance specialist for QVC, where she took great joy in sharing the benefits of her work with friends and colleagues. Known as the matriarch of her teams, Kathy was a steadfast guide who inspired those around her to uphold integrity and kindness. Her leadership and genuine spirit made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

A woman of profound faith, Kathy’s love for Jesus shone brightly in her life. She dedicated herself to serving others, finding immense joy in nurturing those around her.

Kathy cherished her Christmases spent with her daughter and grandson, creating loving memories that will be treasured forever. In the summers, she delighted in visiting her home state of California, particularly the beautiful coast of Santa Cruz, where her parents had once lived. These moments were filled with love and laughter, connecting her to her roots as well as her family.

In her free time, Kathy enjoyed shopping and creating beautiful memories with her beloved grandson, Evan. He was the light of her life, and she took immense pride in sharing his pictures with everyone.

Kathy is survived by her two children, Megan Anne O’Hare of Cocoa Beach, Florida, and Ryan Shane O’Hare of Palm Bay, Florida, as well as her cherished grandson, Evan Kane Newsom of Cocoa Beach.

A memorial service will be held at 5:30pm on March 18th at Jack C. Jordan Middle School, located at 1725 Richland Hills Drive, San Antonio, Texas, 78251.

Friends and family are warmly invited to celebrate Kathy’s remarkable life and share their treasured memories.
