Judy Kendall gave me my first book on Opera when our scout troop went to New York City to see an opera. It became a lifelong passion of mine. She also brought me on a Girl Scout trip to Washington DC, where we laid flowers at the grave of the unknown soldier and visited with our Senator from the State of CT. It was this trip that sparked my interest in government service and our nation's capital. She once gave me the job of carrying our nation's flag in the Old Greenwich Memorial Day Parade. Judy encouraged me to read Anne Frank and Solzhenitsyn. She planted many seeds that blossomed later in my professional and personal life. She was an amazing Mother and outdoors-woman, an exemplary role model. I fell out of touch with "Mrs. Kendall" over the years, and with my dear friend, her daughter, and I was deeply saddened when I learned of her passing, having always wanted to tell her in person what a difference she made in my life. Godspeed. Many years! And my deepest condolences to Judy's family and loved ones.

Dear Family of Judy Sherry as we knew her. I have met her in my parents' home several times. Please accept our condolences for your recent loss. Ted, as Judy grew up with him was our dad, Ken Yates & wife Dot. Dad passed on 12/12/16 and mom just passed on 3/3/20. We have all lost an amazing era of tough people. She was an amazing lady and mom & dad mentioned her often as an adventurer. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. If you have any pictures of them together, I would love to see them. I don't think we have any. Please be blessed knowing they all shared a wonderful, life-long, deep friendship together. Much love, The Yates family, Tabernacle, NJ
