William R Trefry, beloved husband to Jacqueline (Dudley)Trefry , father to Mark Trefry, Stacey and Paul West, and Steve and Nancy Trefry, grandfather to 7, great grandfather to 3 and Uncle. Went to be with our Heavenly Father on September 12th 2022

Born on December 10th 1928 to Arlo and Arbutus Trefry in Lansing Michigan
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister M. Maxine (Trefry) Bennetts.
William ,or Bill as he prefers to be called, graduated from Eastern High School in 1947  From there he attended MSC (now know as Michigan State University) and studied in the forestry program. That program led him to Montana to further his studies working in the ranger station in the mountains and working on the fire lookout towers. He later joined the ROTC which led to him joining the Navy and serving on a ship in the Great Lakes. He then invested in his grandfathers 300 acre farm and eventually grew it to a 600 acre dairy farm operation. Bill met and married Jackie the love of his life in 1952 and they celebrated 70 years of marriage on August 9th 2022!
Bill was a ” jack of all trades” supplementing his income to help run his massive dairy operation by working as a deputy sheriff , a plumber, and electrician, and many other odd jobs
Dad never met anyone who didn’t instantly like him. He was witty, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor!
Dad had a huge heart and loved you with all of it. We were privileged to have had him in our lives as long as we did but we will miss him dearly. His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts and in our lives.  He lived out his 93 years with gusto and he didn’t let a moment go to waste.  We know he is in heaven with his family that went before him and he has a seat at the table with our lord. Rest In Peace Dad. You will be in our hearts forever and we will always love you. Mom says she loves you and you will always be “just my Bill”.
