October 5, 1957 - January 16, 2022

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 30th at F. Burton Smith Regional Park, 7575 W. King St., Cocoa FL from 1-5 p.m. Anyone wanting to honor his memory may do so by making a donation in his name to Rockledge Little League, P.O. Box 560191, Rockledge, FL 32956.  Donations in his name will also be accepted at the Celebration of Life.

Obituary For Terry K. Ray

Terry K. Ray, 64, of Rockledge, FL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 16, 2022, after a long battle with Melanoma.

Terry was born October 5, 1957 to Marilyn Long in Yuma, AZ. As a child he lived in Arizona, Georgia and Oklahoma. He joined the United States Army in 1976 and was stationed at Fort Huachuca, AZ as a Motor Transport Operator until 1978.   While in the Army he earned his GED and later an Associate’s Degree in Radio, Television and Films from San Antonio Community College, San Antonio , TX

In 1976 he met Barbara and they were married in 1977. They have two children; Stephanie and Jason.

Terry’s dream job was being a Sports Writer/Photographer  for The Bayonet at Fort Benning, Ga. He worked in various positions at Harris Corporation, Palm, Bay, FL from 1995 to 2015

He enjoyed being a coach and equipment manager for Rockledge Little League Baseball for many years.  He served as an announcer  for Rockledge  Little League and High School baseball games. He also supported, photographed and videotaped races for Rockledge High School Cross Country for 10 years.

Terry was a life-long Dallas Cowboy and Los Angeles Dodger Fan. He loved all types of music and attending concerts with Barbara. Terry loved going to the shooting range and introducing others to the sport.

Terry is survived by his wife, Barbara (Popham) Ray; his daughter Stephanie (Ray) Gregory; his son-in-law, Kyle Gregory; his son, Jason Ray; his daughter-in-law, Ashley (Fry) Ray; his grandchildren; Janet, Tanner, Amelia and Scarlett; his mother, Marilyn (Long) Brown of  Buckeye, AZ; his brother, Mitchel  Luyando of  Desert Palm Springs, CA;  and two sisters, Dana Mitchel of  East Prairie, MO and Shannon Brown of Mesa, AZ.
