Terrence Daniel “TD” Nugent passed peacefully into heaven on May 26, 2026, at the age of 77. TD was a devoted husband, beloved brother, loyal friend, and a man whose warmth, humor, and kindness touched everyone who knew him.
Born October 4, 1948, TD lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to those closest to him. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his strength of character, and the joy he brought to family gatherings and friendships throughout his life. His presence could light up a room, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved him.
A lifelong Florida State University football fan, TD proudly held the honor of being the original Sammy Seminole, a role that reflected his spirited personality and deep love for his alma mater and its traditions. His vibrant energy extended well beyond the football stadium; TD was a true lover of the water who found immense joy in saltwater fishing and boating, and in his younger years, he was an avid surfer. Back on dry land, he was just as passionate about his favorite media Fox News, happily supporting all things Donald Trump.
He also had a special fondness for all holidays, especially Halloween, which he celebrated each year with enthusiasm, creativity, and joy that delighted family and friends alike. TD was a talented vocalist and guitarist who never missed the chance to turn up the volume. His music brought happiness not only to himself but also to those fortunate enough to hear him play and sing.
TD is survived by his loving wife, Debra Matyas Nugent, whose love and devotion were a constant source of strength and happiness throughout their life together. He is also survived by his siblings Tom Peg, Pat, Tim and John along with their spouses and extended family members, and many dear friends who will deeply miss him. TD is preceded in death by his parents, Tom Sr. and Margaret Nugent as well as his siblings, Kerry, Mimi, and Jerry.
Though his earthly journey has ended, his family takes comfort in knowing he has gone home to heaven and rests in God’s eternal peace.
TD’s love, laughter, and spirit will remain with us always.
