Roza Rochelle Zelner – Life Story
Roza Zelner, age 20, of Merritt Island, Florida died in a car crash on I-528 eastbound in Merritt Island on July 12, 2024. Roza was born on June 11, 2004, along with her twin sister, Zoe Nicole, in Winter Park, Florida. She grew up in the Dr Phillips area of Orlando with her parents, Dr Catherine and Alexander Zelner, and siblings: Gregory, David, Joshua and Zoe. She attended Palm Lake Elementary and later Pace Brantley Preparatory School in Longwood, Florida. She graduated from Merritt Island High School with honors on May 24, 2024.
Roza participated in gymnastics, track and long-distance running events and played chess in scholastic tournaments. She loved her cats and took good care of them. She loved learning in her unique ways as an IEP student and continually sought out teachers and advisors who could help her with her endeavors. She was accepted into the Brevard Achievement Center work-based learning experience. She enjoyed her internships at Romelia Farms, Island Thrift Shop and most recently at the Kennedy Space Center. She loved children and wanted to be an elementary school teacher. She was planning to enroll in Eastern Community State College and was preparing her application for the SALES program. She was a bright young woman, full of dreams and the inspiration to work on them. Growing up, she inspired her family repeatedly with her acts of positivity and generosity, her indefatigable energy and lightness of being.
Roza is survived by her mother, Catherine Zelner, and her siblings: Gregory, David, Joshua and Zoe, and her nephews, Levi Zelner and Leif Zelner.

In Loving Memory of Roza Rochelle Zelner
June 11, 2004 – July 12, 2024
With blue-green eyes she saw the world
And loved her people, her family, her friends, her teachers
She loved us as she recognized us
With full acceptance and without judgement
She spoke to us without shame, without apology, without grandeur
She was merely searching for meaning, for exploration and adventure
And in the end, she returned to us, the Rose
A promise of love and compassion for ALL
Each one of us in our diversity and uniqueness
To share with each other into Eternity
