Rose Marie “Tootsie” Thibodeau Cook of Port St. John, passed away
from complications of Covid, at Viera Hospital in Melbourne, Florida
at the age of 81 on August 15, 2023.
Beloved wife of the late Robert S. Cook. Loving mother of Debrah
Gernot and her husband David Gernot; Terry Rosswick and her
husband Shawn Rosswick, and Julie Cook. Devoted grandmother of
Brittney Ellis, Michelle Butler, Al Rosswick, Zachary Cook, and
Victoria Hamilton. Cherished great-grandmother of Sophia and
Olivia Ellis, and Calum Kelley. Sister of the late Phil Thibodeau, the
late Jerry Thibodeau, Lawrence Thibodeau, Paul Thibodeau, and
Cheryl Dandrea. Also, survived by many loving cousins, nieces, and
nephews.
Without a doubt, her greatest joy in life was being a mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. She was fiercely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She loved being with her family and friends. She was everyone’s “Nanny.” She was the life of the
party. Never meeting a stranger, her smile would light up any room. A people person through
and through. She loved to socialize and never wanted to miss her Friday night happy hour
where the mountains were blue, and the music is streaming her favorite tunes. Every year the
family looked forward to her delicious holiday butter cookies and peanut brittle. She was a
devout Catholic who enjoyed attending church. She loved to play cards with her family and
friends. She loved to do ceramics and crochet in her earlier years. Her favorite place to visit
was her hometown of Portland, Maine.
