Roger A Franklin went home to our Lord on March 14, 2023. Roger was a faithful servant to his church and family. Roger was born in Jamestown Tennessee and grew up in Casey County (Liberty), Kentucky helping the family with farming and logging. He was honored to enlist and serve his country in the United States Army in Viet Nam, in Alpha Troop /2nd Squadron/17th Calvary/101st Airborne Division. He was presented with the Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Air Medal among others. He leaves behind his best friend and beloved wife Karen Franklin (nee Arts); daughters Victoria Wright; Jennifer (Brandon) Wilson; son Earl (Allison) Mager and daughter Erin Mager. He was ‘Poppy’ to 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Roger cherished time spent with his brother Jerry (Peggy) Franklin and sisters Debra (Fred) O’Neil, Barbara (Michael) Schaefer and Frances (Scott) Wang, and Brother-in-Law Conley Roark and Sister-in-Law Jackie Carman. He was preceded in death by his parents Delmer & Cordie (nee Yates), sister Reba Roark and brother Michael Franklin. Roger and Karen loved travel adventures, and were blessed to make their home in Hebron IN; Kouts, IN; Chicago IL; Bark River, MI; and Cocoa, FL.
Roger loved to serve the Lord and was blessed to be included in Ministry and Evangelism at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Dunnville Kentucky; and Trustee Chair and Lay Ministry at First United Methodist Church in Port St John Florida.
