Robert (Bob) Michael Poiani
Robert Michael Poiani, 65, of Cocoa Beach, Florida passed away at home on December 21, 2021,
surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on February 11, 1956 in Newark, New Jersey: the son of the late Dante and Christine Lessa
He received a degree in Physical Education from William Patterson University while also pursuing a
career in professional baseball until a knee injury forced him in a different direction. Upon graduating
from university, Bob worked for his uncle as a job supervisor at Less Handling Systems at UPS in
Paramus, NJ. He went on to become an employee of UPS, working as a building supervisor for many
areas in the US and Canada. Upon moving to Cocoa Beach, he became the owner and operator of the UPS
store in Banana River Square. It gave him great joy working side by side with his wife, Kelly, and serving
his many customers for 15 years.
His passions included wood working, the Green Bay Packers, the NY Yankees, and spending time with
family and friends.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Kelly. Son Michael Poiani and wife, Ivy, and daughter
Maria Poiani and her partner, Jeremy Koodie. Bob is also survived by one sister Sheila Poiani Piegaro,
and niece Daniella Nabbi. He is also remembered and loved by many special cousins, relatives and
