Bobby was born at Ft. Hood, TX, on Aug. 14, 1956 and passed away at home on Jan. 15, 2015.  Bobby and his family moved to Merritt Island from Dayton, Ohio in 1965.  He attended Tropical Elementary and Jefferson Jr High Schools, graduating MIHS in 1974.

Bobby was an avid surfer enjoying the waves of the NC Outer Banks, Santa Cruz and his favorite places, the Cocoa Beach Pier and off of Patrick AFB at first light.

Bobby was an accomplished guitarist and vocalist.  He enjoyed performing his music with his own groups as well as solo throughout the Space Coast since the 1980’s.

Bobby was a professional welder specializing in custom designs and exotic metals.  He was also an excellent ironworker.  Among the many highpoints of his long career were his jobs on the Space Shuttle launch towers and external tanks.

Bobby is survived by his loving parents, Marlene and Wes Woodside, of Cape Canaveral, son Robert K. Tyler II of Cocoa, sister Karen (Patrick) Clendenin of Thomasville, GA, long time and loving companion Vicki Bennett, aunts Pamela (Roy) Smith of Beavercreek, OH, and Deanne (Bob) Condon of Gainesville, Ga, step-brother Allen (Christine) Woodside of Meridian, Id, Father Keith Tyler and brother Gary Tyler. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be a memorial service at Island Cremations, 405 S. Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island at 3 pm, Wed., Jan 21.  Please visit their website for any updates.
