Mary Joe Ann Anderson Chambers, 84 years old, a longtime resident of Merritt Island, entered her eternal rest Saturday, December 28, 2024. She is survived by her husband, John, as well as brother Ernest A. Anderson (Aida), sister Carylon Anderson Good (Roy) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Chambers; daughter, Debra Chambers; grandson, Brian Crytzer; parents Ernie & Esther Anderson.

Joe Ann came to Merritt Island from her birth state of Indiana in 1951 and settled on Merritt Island with her family. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she & her husband, John Chambers, were married July 18,1958. She continued in membership there including Sunday School and Bible study over the years. Joe Ann was an active participant with her Cocoa High School 1958 class members at class reunions and dinners over the years, serving on the reunion committee from time to time. She had a career as a legal secretary and went on to be an executive secretary at Computer Sciences Raytheon in support of the United States Air Force at Patrick Air Force Base, where she retired.

Joe and John enjoyed extensive travel in their retirement including trips to Alaska, many national parks around the nation as well as cruises. Over the years the Chambers home was host to their extended family for many celebrations and holiday events.
