A memorial service will occur at 11:00 AM, June 1, 2024 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Central Brevard, 1261 N. Range Road, Cocoa, Florida.

Marilyn B Spivey

1942 – 2024

Marilyn B Spivey passed away Saturday May 18, 2024, at her home, Merritt Island, Florida. She was 82.

Marilyn was born in 1942 to Clifford and Wilma (Bane) Base. She was raised in Pomona, California. She spent the vast majority of her working life in Southern California with only brief residences in other states.

Marilyn had many careers in her life. Fashion Model, Sales Representative, Clerk Typist. In 1983 she came to Rockwell International, Space Systems Division, as a temporary employee. She was hired and spent the next 26-years in various roles at the Cypress, Seal Beach, Palmdale and Downey Facility locations. Her work focus was on Manned Spaceflight, but she managed to also support various GPS and DoD Satellite missions. She was awarded a Silver Snoopy for her efforts.

After retiring in 2010, she relocated to Florida’s Space Coast to be near her friends Irene and Paul Cummins. Marilyn spent the next 14 years exploring the world on cruise ships, road trips to much of North America and beyond.

She is survived by her sister Sherri (Rick) Maytorena, South Carolina. She is also survived by her friends Michele Owings, Paul Cummins and the membership of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Central Brevard.
