In Loving Memory of

Lisa Mari Ekstrom

January 17, 1971 – November 6, 2019

Our loving daughter, mother, sister, niece went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 6^th, surrounded by her family. Lisa loved her sons, family and friends unconditionally. She was a avid animal lover. Lisa had a kind and gentle soul. She had a love for photography in which she had a great eye to capture the beauty around her and loved nature. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She also had a painful struggle, suffering from diabetes, depression and addiction. She grew close to the lord and made peace and amends before her passing. She would like to be remembered as a loving mother, caring spirt and gentle soul. She is survived by her sons Nicholas Ekstrom and Ryan Ekstrom-O’Clreay, her mother Christine Morrell, her sisters Melanie Mclean and Melissa Wall, her aunts Carol Liscinsky, Karen Callahan, Susan Ekstrom her Uncle Steve Berntson, her nieces Brianna Mclean (great Niece Olivia Kelley), Brooke Mclean and Jaden wall and nephew Devon Wall as well as many cousins and other family.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
