Larry Rae Nally will be missed dearly. He is survived by his 3 brothers (Dennis, Tommy, & Keith), 2 sisters (Shannon & Jackie), Daughter (Alexa), 2 grandchildren, his dog Buster, and many other friends and family.
Larry Rae was born in Virginia Beach at the Virginia Naval Base Hospital. When Larry was 5 years old the family moved to Oak Harbor Washington where his father was stationed at the Naval Air Station base on Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor. As a young teenager the family moved to Kentucky when his father retired from the military.
Larry, his brothers, and a few good friends formed a rock band when he lived in Owensboro Kentucky. By the time he was 17 their band was playing out at local events every weekend.
When Larry was only 17 years old he met his wife to be, Lisa 16 yrs old in Owensboro Kentucky and In 1989 they moved to Florida, got married, and had their little girl Alexa Rae.
Larry continued with his passion for music as he, his brothers and friends formed a new band called JONA’S MISFORTUNE. They played the latest rock hits for several years in local bars, restaurants, party’s and events in Brevard County throughout the 90’s.
Larry’s trade as a young adult was all types of flooring , he was taught from his uncle Butch. he worked hard and earned a living throughout his early adult years as a flooring subcontractor. Larry’s cousin Ronnie Lee (Butch’s son) and good friend Rocky also worked with Larry doing flooring through the years.
He later worked as the warehouse manager at KABRAN AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING INC. for the past 7 years with his friends and family. In his free time, Larry enjoyed fishing, listening to music, playing electric and bass guitar, watching war movies and forensic files at home, drinking Busch Light, smoking cigs, and hanging out with his dog Buster.
Larry had a great sense of humor and could always make everyone around him laugh.
He often mentioned his best years were as a teenager in Whitesville, KY. He loved living out in the county on hundreds of acres. Him and his brothers would enjoy BB gun fights, fishing, growing mushrooms and other things the parents would not approve of!. He also told stories of how he enjoyed camping and playing by the Deception Pass bridge in Oak Harbor Washington.
Larry spent some time involved in Overlook bible training center; A ministry associated with East Coast Christian Center which seeks to help men overcome addiction. Larry became friends with Pastor Nick & Dorothy Mounts and Pastor Reggie Jones who taught him about the Love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.
At the age of only 55 years, Larry suffered from cirrhosis of the liver and cancer which ultimately took his life. Larry was a trooper and a fighter until the end. He fought the good fight he is now with the Lord in Heaven along with his deceased loved ones before him. No more addiction, no more sickness, and no more pain.
