Titusville, FL – Karen Marie Vasseur died peacefully on Saturday morning, July 23rd, surrounded by those she loved most. Born in Oakland, California, on September 24, 1952, to Reginald Joseph Vasseur and Ann Lorraine Bourdeau, Karen was a true California girl who loved the sun, the sea, and being a free spirit.

During high school, the Vasseur family moved to Texas, where Karen wowed the locals with laughter, excitement, and short skirts. After Clear Creek High School in League City, TX, Karen embarked on a lifelong journey that was filled with travel, finding new adventures, making friends that became her family, and learning about whatever local culture she found herself in. Growing to embrace and immerse herself in each new experience. Karen had many talents, an excellent seamstress who inherited her father’s skills, she was also known for delicious cooking and baking skills, generous hospitality to both friend and stranger, and beautiful photography, which she studied at (then called) Polk Junior College in Polk County, Florida, where she was a resident for most of her life.

Of all her life’s accomplishments, Karen was most proud to be known as the mom of two amazing children. Karen never tired of talking about her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She kept mementos and memories of her loved ones close by, and was sentimental to the end, speaking words of life and encouragement to family and friends.

Karen Marie is survived by her favorite daughter, Andi Lee (James) Fisher-Davis of Houston, Texas, and her favorite son, Joshua (Melissa) Walker, of Bartow, Florida; her beloved grandchildren, Shelby (Esteban) Saldana, Reese Fisher, Desiree Joseph, Sonya Walker, Jadian Walker, Titus Walker, and Matilda Walker; her beautiful great-grandchildren, Carson Joseph and Emma Saldana; and her cherished siblings, Roy Vasseur and Mary Ann (Del) Stephens. Karen is preceded in death by both of her parents.
