Jon Riley, 66, from Taylorville, IL was called home to his Lord on, Friday, Oct. 8 at 9:38pm in Health First Viera Hospital in Melbourne, FL where he was visiting Jon and Sabrina Riley with the birth of his first grandchild, Voyager. Jon was born Sept. 13,1955 in Houston, TX. He graduated from Big Spring High school, class of 1974. Later, he studied engineering/computer science at Texas Tech University in 1975. He then transfered to computer information systems at West Texas A & M University graduating in December of 1979 with a bachelors in computer programing & business administration. He married Lea on Nov. 29th, 1985. They had two children and then divorced several years later. Jon enjoyed table tennis, chess, solar pannels, geodesic domes, singing in the church choir, and frequenting the local mexican restaurants.

He is survived by his son, Jon Riley and his wife Sabrina Riley of Cocoa, FL; and daughter Sara Cearlock and her husband Joe Cearlock of Taylorville, IL: His four sisters, Rhonda Fiot of Houston, TX; Lisa Muncy and her husband Jim Muncy of Peoria, IL; Roanne DeSonier and her husband David DeSonier of Joplin, MO; and Karen Burleson of Joplin, MO; a grandchild Voyager Riley of Cocoa, FL: several nephews and nieces, Marc Fiot of Grand Juction, CO; Joshua DeSonier of Bentonville, AR; Michael DeSonier of Aurora, CO; Christie Hager of La Porte, TX; Alonzo Muncy of Waco, TX; Alice Muncy of Waco, TX; Allen Muncy of New York City, NY; Alaina Muncy of Nashville, TN; Marianne Burleson of Joplin, MO; Frances Burleson of Las Vegas, NV; James Allen Burleson of Joplin, MO. He is also survived by several great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many fur baby grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Fran and Dr. William Riley.

The family has entrusted Island Cremations & Funeral Home in Merritt Island, FL with a viewing that took place for immediate family members on Tuesday October 12th at 3:00pm. Jon will be cremated. His remains may be spread along the continental divide trail area. Jon had wanted to hike it this year.
