Jon Clift Miller, 67, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024, in Rockledge, FL. Born on May 6, 1957, in Palo Alto, CA, Jon spent his formative years in Audubon and Wayne, PA, where he attended Conestoga High School. He furthered his education at Millersville University and Bowman Technical School in Lancaster, PA, where he honed his skills in jewelry design and craftsmanship.
Jon’s career in jewelry began at T.A. Anderson Goldsmith in Cocoa Village, where under expert tutelage, he mastered wax carving and design. His passion and skill eventually led him to own and operate Jon’s Fine Jewelry, a cornerstone of the Cocoa Village community since he took ownership in 1991. Known for his custom designs, Jon took great joy in creating pieces that brought happiness to his customers.
Outside of his professional life, Jon was a vibrant and fun-loving individual known for his deep care for the community and charitable efforts. He was an active member of the Cocoa Rotary and initiated Jon’s Time for Charity monthly fundraiser, greatly benefiting local charities. Through the years he generously supported many prominent non-profits, particularly the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse.
Jon’s hobbies included art collecting, playing the guitar, attending auto racing events, long-distance motorcycle trips, playing golf, and recently, exploring in his customized Jeep Wrangler. His love for adventure and community involvement was evident throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie Miller; daughters, Morgan and Marissa Miller; sisters, Patricia Picardi and June Amarant; brother, Mark Miller, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his father, James Clift; mother, Catherine Miller; and stepfather, Theodore Miller.
The family requests that contributions be made to the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse, honoring Jon’s legacy of community support. Island Cremations & Funeral Home in Merritt Island, FL, is assisting with the arrangements. Jon will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and craftsmanship.
