In Loving Memory of
John Collins
1980 – 2024
John Collins, 44, was born on August 14, 1980 in Miami, Florida to
Kathryn Sue (Doran) Collins and Jeffrey Robert Collins. He went home to be with his
Lord and Savior on September 14, 2024 in Melbourne, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathy and Jeffrey Collins, his
Grandparents, Jack and Bessie Doran and Joe and Betty Collins, and his sister,
Suzanne Collins.
He is survived by the love of his life, his beautiful daughter, Jozzie.
He also leaves behind his sister, the rock of his life, Chrissy, and his younger brother
and friend, Tim.
He was blessed with many nieces and nephews; Andrew, Katie, Ally, Amber, AJ, Aaron
and a great-niece, Aliyah.
John loved family and family loved John. John was a kind, loving and compassionate
person. John was witty and fun to be around. He was a handsome young man with a
great smile. He enjoyed sports growing up, especially baseball. He worked great with
his hands. That’s probably why he was good at baseball and had a real talent for
landscaping. He also loved outdoor activities like fishing, boating and hiking.
John came to a relationship with Jesus Christ later in his life. In the front of one of his
Bibles he had written “He knows my name.” His favorite song was “Redeemed.” His
favorite Bible Scripture was Psalm 91. He was excited to share the Lord with others
and planted many ‘seeds’, as we’ve been told by the recipients of his sharing.
We are saddened by John’s passing from this world, BUT, we know that death is not the
end of life. It is the gateway to eternity.
We are joyful that John chose the pathway to spend eternity in heaven with his Lord
and Savior, and other loved ones that preceded him in his passing. We also look
forward to seeing him again someday.
We as a family would like to express our deepest appreciation to Holmes Regional
Medical Center and Legacy for their compassion, kindness and care that they provided
for John. They were terrific! Yes, Legacy, was involved. John’s last heroic act was to
donate a kidney in order to give someone else a better quality of life.
