Jerry Andrew Roberson, a beloved man known for his kind, humble, and lighthearted personality, passed away on September 14th 2024 peacefully in his sleep at his home in Cocoa Beach, FL. Born on February 1st 1947, Jerry lived a life centered on strong values of integrity, loyalty, and family first. He was named after his mother Geraldine who loved him dearly.

He was a loving husband to his wife of 58 and a half years Pamela Roberson, brother to Jackie Shepard, father to Jerry William Roberson and Kevin Robert Roberson, father-in-law to Natasha Roberson, grandfather to Nicole Roberson, Brooke Roberson, Kevin Roberson, and Joshua Roberson, grandfather-in-law to Hannah Roberson, and great-grandfather to Connor Roberson, Brodey Roberson, and Bentley Roberson. He is also survived by his miniature Australian Shepherd sidekick, Jenny, who was named after one of his favorite movies Forest Gump. He and Jenny went together like peas and carrots. He was actively involved in his family’s lives and served as an unwavering pillar of strength and light. His absence will leave a void in their lives, but the memories and love they shared will live on forever.

Jerry’s dedication and hard work was apparent in everything he did and is a quality he proudly taught to his children and grandchildren. Jerry graduated from Waterford Township High School in Waterford, MI in 1965. He served 3 honorable years in the US Army as a vehicle mechanic and is a Vietnam Veteran. He was a Construction Supervisor at Michigan Trenching for approximately 20 years in Waterford, MI. He then worked as a Telecommunications Construction Manager at General Dynamics with government contracts on military bases throughout the country. He was also skilled at carpentry, plumbing, and was considered a “jack of all trades.”

Always looking for a laugh, Jerry loved reading the funnies in the newspaper, watching America’s Funniest Home Videos, and making jokes to make people lighten up. He loved watching western and war movies and always said he was a cowboy at heart. A passionate Michigan sports fan, Jerry proudly cheered for the Lions and University of Michigan in football, the Tigers in baseball, and the Red Wings in hockey.

The world was blessed by Jerry’s presence, but we take comfort that he is no longer in pain and is watching over us.
