In Loving Memory of Jerome Patrick Alberto
April 8, 1951 – November 20, 2024

We announce with great sadness the passing of Jerome Patrick Alberto, a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, who passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by love.

Born on April 8, 1951, in Opa-Locka, Florida, Jerome grew up on the space coast of Florida and graduated from Titusville High School. While working part-time at the Kennedy Space Center, he met a coworker in the souvenir store who would become his future wife LaPaula Charles. Jerome and LaPaula soon began a long-distance relationship as he earned his degree from Loyola University in New Orleans.

After marrying in August 1973, Jerome and LaPaula began a nomadic lifestyle that saw them live in 8 cities and 15 different homes, while raising two children. Moving became a norm due to his long-standing career with the airlines. Jerome fondly remembered his time working for various airlines, particularly his role as a Regional Director at Continental Airlines (now United). Following his career in the airline industry, he entered real estate selling new homes as well as flipping renovated homes.

Jerome enjoyed a variety of interests, most notably a passion for poker, deep-sea fishing, and traveling. His last big adventure was a trip to Iceland with his children in 2019 where they enjoyed fishing, whale watching, and even caught sight of the Northern Lights. He had the unique ability to create memorable experiences that will last in the memory of family and friends.

Jerome’s proudest accomplishment was his family. For 51 years, he shared a loving marriage with his wife, LaPaula, building a home full of love and laughter. He was a devoted father to his son, Quinton, and his daughter, Ashly, whose lives were enriched by his guidance, support, and unwavering pride in their achievements. Jerome wore his pride of his children regularly as his wardrobe primarily consisted of sweatshirts from his children’s alma maters and any branded apparel from their workplaces.

Jerome’s legacy is one of hard work and devotion to the people and activities he cherished. He leaves behind a family and many friends who will miss him dearly but take comfort in the incredible care and lasting impact he made in their lives. He is survived by his wife, LaPaula Alberto, his daughter, Ashly Alberto, his son, Quinton Alberto and his wife Meredith, his grandson, Rhys Alberto, his sister, Diane Crowell, numerous nieces and nephews, and the many friends and loved ones who will carry his memory forward.

As we mourn Jerome’s passing, we also celebrate his life—a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and the things that truly matter. In the Spring of 2025, the family will hold a service in his memory at sea, where his ashes will be spread with those of his beloved dog, Bruneaux.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jerome’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) or the Lewy Body Dementia Association (lbda.org).

Rest in peace, Dad. We are so grateful for the care you took of us. You are deeply loved and profoundly missed.
