The world will be a sadder place with the passing of Jean Green. Jean died August 11, 2022 at home in Cocoa Beach, FL. She was born March 10, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN to Grace Holman and Cornelius “Charlie” Rottier. Growing up in Miami, Jean attended Miami High School and worked in banking. She moved to Brevard County in 1957, working at Cape Canaveral. Jean was married to Harold Green for many years. She went on to build a career in hospitality, opening the landmark Barnay’s BBQ on Merritt Island which later became the Clique Lounge. Jean loved to laugh and share jokes and pranks, including the iconic “Simone” mannequin who occupied a bar stool at the Clique and accepted drinks from many admiring customers. Jean opened her home to family and friends from across the US and some-times planted a rubber snake in the guest bed just to keep things interesting. Jean had a love of bingo and cards and was happiest when surrounded by friends and family. From her balcony in Cocoa Beach, she had a birds’ eye view of space launches and cruise ships .Jean is survived by her daughter, Susan Trulson Romaine of Merritt Island and son Greg Trulson (Nancy) of Delray Beach. She was preceded in death by her son Mark Trulson. Jean also is survived by two grandchildren Heather Jeffrey of Batesville AR and Mark Jeffrey of Melbourne FL; and four great grandchildren Weston Jeffrey, Jace Jeffrey, Dylan Jeffrey, and Aubrey Autry. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
