James Raymond Tuck
January 30, 1941. – March 22, 2024

James (Jim) was born in Everett Massachusetts. He was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High in 1958. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1959.

Jim spent the next 25 years in the Air Force retiring in 1985 as a Master Sergeant. Jims Air Force career included two tours in Vietnam. His favorite assignment by far was his assignment to Greece. Upon retiring Jim relocated to Merritt Island to go to work for McDonnell Douglas . Where he put his Graphic Arts degree to good use.

Jim was a charter member of the Vietnam Veterans of Brevard he was very proud of all that they accomplished.

Jim was the proud father of 9 children, he was especially proud of his 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years Anne Marie, his daughters Cyndie, Brenda (Steve), Loretta (Jason), Mary (Daniel), Lorianna (Tristan), Chyanne. His sons John (Kerry), Matthew (Kaitlyn) and Luke.
He is pre deceased by his parents George and Muriel Tuck his brother Richard his grandson Raymond and his first wife Bettie.

Visitation will be Saturday April 13 at 10 am, Service will follow immediately.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
