James “Tom” Thomas Cameron Jr., age 68, passed away on February 25 after battling brain cancer. We rejoice that Tom has gone home to be with the Lord. Tom was a loving husband, father, and brother. His battle while brief was a fierce one and Tom made every attempt to fight but sadly succumb to the illness. Tom is survived by his wife Debra Cameron, Brother Rev. Keith Cameron, sons: Mark, Dennis, and Ben Cameron, Daughter in laws; Christina and Megan Cameron. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Cole, Hunter, Madisyn, Cheyanne, Seth and Cyran Cameron. Plus, two bonus daughters; Tari Honeycutt-Kinyon and Cyndy Guerry, as well as his bonus granddaughter Les Guerry. Tom is preceded in death by both his parents; James and Marie Cameron of Warner Robins, GA. & his bonus Grandson Richard Honeycutt of Folkston, GA. Tom was an avid bass fisherman with the local Patrick Bass Club. While he will be missed by his entire family, he will never be forgotten. Rest in peace and catch some big fish in the lakes up above. My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
