October 06, 1967 – July 01, 2022

Jim Mitravich, 54, of Palm Bay, FL passed away July 01, 2022 as a result of a battle with kidney cancer. His family was by his side when he drifted off to be with the Lord. He was born to James and Judith Mitravich in Lewiston, NY on October 06, 1967. The Mitravich family fled the Buffalo area for sunny Florida after the blizzard of ’77 and settled in Indian Harbour Beach. He was a life-long and devoted (obsessed) fan of Buffalo Bills football.

Jim worked in the telecommunications industry since a teenager. He started with family owned MEI Engineering as a field technician, working his way up and through other companies with roles such as engineer, manager, director and most recently vice president of current employer, SourceOne Corp.

Jim is survived by his wife Cheryl, and daughters Meagan and Amanda. He is also survived by parents Big Jim and Judy Mitravich of Indian Harbour Beach; his sister Erin and husband Shane Potter of Lawrenceburg, TN and his sister Kelly Rice of Satellite Beach, FL. He also leaves loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and colleagues.

A memorial is planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the wonderful facility that cared for him, Wuesthoff Hospice House in Rockledge, FL.

We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
