On Tuesday, October 25th, 2022, Girvan “Jim” Hubert Lyttle, a loving husband, father of four children, and grandfather of four children passed away at age 79.

Girvan, who went by Jim, was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on September 15, 1943. Jamaica, to Henry Clayton Lyttle and Casmine Williams. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago. Jim’s engineering career started at Sargent & Lundy. Then he moved on to a long-standing career at Bechtel Corporation, where he served as an electrical and nuclear engineer for over 30 years.

Jim married “his” Ilona in 1973 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was love at first sight. They raised two daughters, Alicia and Lorette.

Jim found a deep connection and passion for the Lord and loved Jesus. Jim was an extraordinary golfer who always won the longest drive award in the Bechtel Golf tournaments, and he transferred that passion for golfing to his youngest daughter Lorette who went on to play golf professionally.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Henry Clayton Lyttle, his mother, Casmine Williams, and his aunts, Ermine Scott and Phylis Myers. He is survived by his dear aunt Blossom Williams; his four children, Girvan the second, Duane, Alicia, and Lorette; his grandchildren, Girvan the third, Lynden, Ava Rose, and Alaina, also known as Laney. His sisters Joan Mesquita, and Madge Lyttle his brothers Godfrey (Roy) Lyttle and his wife Vinnette, Ransford (Ron) Mesquita and Trevor Mesquita and his wife, and dozens of cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his lovely wife of 49 years, Ilona Rosetta Lyttle.
