Edward Joseph Montminy “Ed” passed away peacefully on Janurary 13th 2023 at home in the arms of his loving wife after a brief battle with cancer. He was 80 years old. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 2nd at 1pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida with a gathering immediately following at Playalinda Brewing Company-Brix Project (5220 S Washington Ave, Titusville, Florida).
Ed was born on October 15th, 1942 in New Bedford, Ma to Alexandre and RoseAlma L’ Heureux Montminy. He attended Cranwell Prep in Lenox, Ma, then graduated Boston College. Ed proudly served his county as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force, doing two tours in Vietnam.
An avid reader, lover of Jazz music and Taqueray Tonics, Ed loved to travel and entertain friends and family and will be forever remembered for his famous Eggs Benedict.
Ed was predeceased by his mother, father, Step Mother Ernestine as well as his brothers Pierre and Wilfred. Ed leaves behind his wife, Melanie, his Step Sons Nicholas, Daniel and Michael and their families. He is additionally survived by his siblings, Therese Grosso, Raymond Montminy, Alex Montminy (Trish), Lin Montminy, Paul Montminy (Ann), as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by the Zabs and so many cousins and good friends, especially the Thursday night “Senseless Group” and his Poodle $h!t Head.
In leu of flowers, donations can be made in Ed’s name to The Fisher House Foundation (fisherhouse.org), an organization helping military families stay together during medical crises.
