Charles (Charlie) F. Anderson Sr (78) died in Palm Bay, Florida on November 5, 2024, doing what he loved, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Charlie was born and raised in Brockton, MA. He was an energetic, hardworking man who had a passion for life. He instilled the values of hard work, patriotism, and family in everyone he met. He was never afraid to take on any challenge he was faced with. He was known for being tough as nails but a big softy when it came to his grandchildren and his beloved Boston Terriers.
Charlie married his high school sweetheart, Beverly, on March 27, 1965, and shared over 60 years of love.
Charlie spent the majority of his career as a manufacturing engineer. He started this career path in 1966 as a welder at Tower Iron Works in Seekonk, MA. He worked his way up to plant manager before his departure in 1978.
In 1978, he was hired as supervisor by Process Engineering in Plaistow, NH. Charlie worked through the ranks and in 1985 became manufacturing superintendent until his retirement in 2004. He loved his career and made many lifelong friends.
In addition to his career in engineering, he enjoyed his time as a reserve police officer in Swansea, MA. Charlie and Beverly also owned and managed a GNC franchise in Hooksett, NH for several years. Bev and Charlie enjoyed their retirement in Palm Bay, Florida.
He was a long time Road Captain for the Seacoast Harley Davidson Owners Group (HOG) and successfully completed some of the most advanced skill riding training Harley Davidson offers and completed over 40,000 HOG miles.
Charlie was a skilled motorcycle enthusiast and a passionate weightlifter until the very end. Even in his 70’s he continues his passion for exercise and weightlifting. He was never shy to remind you that “at 58 years old I benched pressed well over 400 pounds and could squat over 600 pounds”.
He was highly trained in combat sports. Charlie enjoyed boxing, Krav Maga, Ji Jitsu and held a black belt in the Bill “Superfoot” Wallace system of karate. He was competitive and greatly enjoyed sparring. Charlie was also an accomplished sharpshooter, being a top ranked amateur and a multi-competition winner.
Charles is survived by his wife, Beverly, daughter Deborah Anderson of Salem, NH, daughter Susan Rombola and her husband Tony Rombola of Cape Coral, FL, his son Charles Anderson Jr and his wife Lisa Anderson of Hudson, NH. And his grandchildren Trisha Rombola, Paul Boudreau, Adam Deacy, Alexis Gingras, Alyssa Anderson, and Olivia Anderson. Charlie was predeceased by his brother George Anderson, sister Lois Copeland, and his eldest grandson, Staff Sgt. Joseph Fay. He also leaves behind a family filled with loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and so many more.
Charlie was honored with a private celebration of life with his closest family and friends.
