Obituary Barbara Carmody December 10, 1938- August 27, 2024

Barbara Ann Corliss Carmody of Merritt Island FL, formerly of Melbourne FL, and Bay Village, OH was born December 10, 1938, in Boston MA to Francis J. Corliss Sr. and Marie Catherine Corliss (nee Treanor). She graduated from Milton High School and Boston State Teachers’ College. While in college she met and became engaged to Richard T. Carmody of Cleveland Ohio. They married in 1962 and settled in Cleveland. They had 4 children, all of whom survive: Michael of Merritt Island FL, Kathleen Baudino of Maryville MO, Daniel (Deb) of Milton, GA, and Patrick (Sherri) of Euclid OH. While raising the children, Barb taught at St. James Catholic School in Lakewood OH. After raising their children Dick and Barb retired to Fl in 1995.
Barb loved to sing, play the piano and play the guitar. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus in Indialantic.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Marie Bryant and her nephew Timothy Rearick.
In addition to her children, she is survived by her grandchildren Brianna, Shannon, Kelly, Sean, Luke, Claire and Lucy. Brothers Francis J. Corliss Jr., James Corliss and Robert Corliss.
