A funeral service will be held at a later date at Divine Mercy Church 1940 N. Courtney Parkway Merritt Island. Interment will be full military honors at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery 5525 US 1 Mims Florida with a date to be determined.

Alfred “Bruce” Burdett-89 passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Born in Pittsfield Massachusetts on May 9, 1935, to Alfred E. Burdett and Eleanor Hoxie. He was the youngest of four children. In 1942 his family moved to Dalton Massachusetts where he attended Grammer School and later graduated from Dalton High School in 1953. He attended the University of Massachusetts for 3 years completing his Economics Degree at Rollins College in Winter Park after moving to Florida.
He met his future wife Norma Theberge in 1956 marrying her on November 23, 1957. Bruce was drafted into the U. S. Army in 1958 serving in Arkansas and Hawaii where their two sons (Kevin and Stephen) were born.
Upon returning to Civilian life, they settled in Lenox Massachusetts where he worked for New England Tel and Tel and their third son (James) was born. In 1965 his telephone experience allowed him the opportunity to transfer to Kennedy Space Center. After 33 years working with numerous contractors with the Space Program, he retired from United Space Alliance as the manager of the Cable and Wire System.
Bruce enjoyed his family, he coached his sons Little League Baseball teams, he enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends especially on holidays and special occasions. He was an avid golfer for most of his life. He enjoyed playing Poker and gambling, making numerous trips to Las Vegas and Reno. Later in life he and Norma purchased an RV traveling the country and seeing the sights.
He is survived by his eldest son Kevin (Stasia), his middle son Stephen (Jamie), five grandchildren, Brandon, Stefani (Jeremy), Mathew, Jonathon, Andrew (Kelly) and two great grandchildren Harper and James. He is pre-deceased by his wife Norma, youngest son James, Sisters Mary Bacon, Janet Flarherty, and Margaret Watt, Brother-in Law George Bushey, Sister-in Law Jacquelin Bushey, and Brother-in-law Gary Tanner,
Bruce and Norma were both members of Divine Mercy Catholic Church.
