Patricia M. Thomas, 60 died February 18, 2013 following a long illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas; and brothers, Chuck and Mike Thomas. She is survived by brothers, John Thomas and wife Barbara, Don Thomas and wife Becky; sister, Kathy Watts and husband Mac; nephews, Steven Watts and Scott Thomas, Scott’s wife, Jennifer with daughter’s, Sarah and Emily; nieces, Karyn Ware and husband, Chris; Shelly Berry and sons, Thomas and Nicholas; sister in law, Wanda Marsalla; and devoted friend Shaunna Heffernan.

Pat was a former Assistant Chief with Brevard County Fire and Rescue. As Assistant Chief she made many contributions to the department during her tenure. She will be remembered for her dedication to public safety and her drive to improve the delivery of services while keeping the safety of her personnel a top priority. Pat retired from Brevard County Fire and Rescue in 2009 after a public service career that spanned over 30 years.

A memorial mass celebrating Pat’s life will be held Thursday, February 21 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:00 am in the chapel.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice.
