Loverne Garst Holt, age 84, of Cocoa Beach, Florida, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018, in Rockledge, Florida.

Loverne is survived by husband, Lloyd Gene Holt of Cocoa Beach; six children, Stephen G. Holt, PhD, Colonel, U.S. Army (Retired) (Susan) of Natick, MA; Cheryl Sumner (Michael) of Blakely, GA; John D. Holt (Kilby) of Mills River, NC; Cynthia Stevens (Ronald) of Cocoa Beach, FL; Charis Aycock (Bill) of Orlando, FL; and Timothy B. Holt (Kimberley) of Cocoa Beach, FL.  She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Loverne was born June 28, 1934, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of George and Lee Ellen Garst.  She had one sister, Virginia Lutz, who died in 1970.

Lloyd and Loverne had a long and happy marriage, and they would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on Thursday, September 20.  After getting married, they lived in El Paso, TX; and St. Louis, Columbia, Overland and Florissant, MO.  They moved to Cocoa Beach from Missouri in 1965 and have resided there ever since.

Loverne retired from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in 1995.  Lloyd and Loverne then began to travel the country in their travel trailer, seeing new places, as well as visiting with beloved family and friends.

Loverne was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
