June Karen Kolecki passed away on February 27, 2019 at her home in Merritt Island, Florida; she was 69 years old.  She is dearly missed by her family and friends.

 

The daughter of Edwin F and Adeline P (Robol) Jacobs, June was born at The Doctors Hospital in Seattle, Washington on October 27, 1949.  After a couple of years there, the Jacobs family returned to northern New Jersey where most of their family resided.

 

June was raised in Hackensack and Washington Township, New Jersey and graduated from Westwood High School in 1967.  She then went on to Trenton State College (now, The College of New Jersey, TCNJ) and received her degree in Elementary Education in 1971.  Over the years, she had various jobs including working for the Head Start Program and Cellular One, one of the first mobile telephone service providers.  June enjoyed volunteering at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC as well as the Cape Canaveral Hospital and Second Harvest Food Bank at East Coast Christian Center in Merritt Island, Florida.  She loved being active, spending time in the outdoors (especially the ocean), keeping fit in the gym and photography.

 

June has been married to Ron Kolecki since July 1982.  During their 36-year marriage, they lived in various states including Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland and Florida.

 

In addition to her loving husband, Ron, June is survived by her step-sons Ron and Jason Kolecki and their families as well as her sister-in-law, Darlene Kolecki residing in Croydon, Pennsylvania and her brother and sister-in-law Bruce & Peggy Jacobs residing in Parker, Colorado.  Other surviving extended family members include June’s Aunt Ester Robol (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) and Aunt Alice Montelaro (Fort Meyers, FL) as well as many cousins and their families.
