Jonathan Darrell Ham, born in Nashville, Tennessee on May 4, 1973 and died on January 29, 2020 in Cocoa, Florida after a two and half year battle with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer.

Jon graduated from Cocoa High School in 1991.  He proudly served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard stationed in Oak Island, North Carolina.  He worked at Kennedy Space Center where his met his beautiful bride of sixteen years, Desiree. Jon earned his bachelors degree in information technology from Barry University.  He worked as a programmer at Eastern Florida State College.

Jon’s deepest love was for his family. He planned romantic surprises for his wife, coached soccer, football, and basketball teams for his children and was always their biggest fan. He loved fishing, kayaking, boating, and living out his motto “Love life” preferably on the water. He taught his own children and others to love and care for nature and always leave a place cleaner than when you found it. Jon was beloved by all who knew him and adored by his loving family.

Jon knew love is not something you talk about but something you do. On several occasions he raised funds for St. Baldrick’s fight against childhood cancer by shaving his head.

Jon is survived by his wife, Desiree, children Hailey and Carlos, parents Milton and Kathy Ham, in-laws Ty and Veronica Allen, siblings Jason (wife – Tabbetha) and Tammy (husband – Joe) and nephews A.J. and Sam.
