David Robert Wilson, 63 of Merritt Island died suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, August 18, 2016.

David was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 24, 1953 and lived in Michigan until he was seventeen. David lived in Brevard County, mostly Merritt Island for the past thirty-nine years. He retired less than two years ago from Frito Lay after twenty-five years. David was a loving father. He coached Abby and Nathan’s basketball and softball teams and was active in their church’s youth group. David truly enjoyed playing racquetball with his avid teammates and working and playing golf at the Savannahs. He had time to indulge energetically in both since his brief retirement. With his three grandchildren Dave loved to go to the park and eat ice-cream or snow-cones, just as he did with his own children. Dave spent much of the past three years enjoying life with his girlfriend Rhea and her family and traveling every place they could go.

Dave is survived by his two children, daughter Abigail (Jeremy) Nuckolls of Portland, Oregon and their children, Morgan 7, Samuel 5, Taylor 1, son Nathaniel Robert Wilson of Merritt Island (MI), former wife Melinda Wilson (MI), sister Peggy (Tom) Boekhout (MI), brother Jeffrey Wilson of Punta Gorda, sister Janice Heather (Tim) Murphy of North Wilkesboro, NC and their three NC children, nephew Kevin Murphy, niece Megan (Malcolm) Munkittrick, nephew Michael Murphy (Katie), niece Amanda Boekhout (Cody Diefenthaler, Nova 4, Vale 8 months) of Tallahassee, niece Christina Boekhout (Truman Ta) Salt Lake City, UT, beloved girlfriend Rhea Sautter of Troy, MI (son Ted Sautter, daughters Amy Sautter and Mari [Doug] Garofalo, and best buddies Jorie Eberle of Cocoa and Mike Weisner of MI.
