Passed away on September 14, 2018 at Cape Canaveral Hospital Hospice Unit. She was born August 16, 1949 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Robert Lee Ross and Joyce Keim Strength.

Raised in Omaha, NE, she graduated from South High School in 1967. She moved to Akron, OH in 1970, working and retiring from The BFGoodrich Company after 28 years of service. She and her husband have been residents of Merritt Island since 2000.

She was a quilter and a member of Rocket Quilters.

She is survived by her loving husband, Keith, whom she married in 1986; mother Joyce Strength, NC; children – Jason (Danielle) Clapp, WA; Joshua (Amber) Clapp, NC; step-children Douglas (Jenn) Lowe, FL; Michael (Jodi) Lowe, OH; and Robert Lowe, OH. grandchildren Jeff, Elizabeth, Corrine, Travis, Brenden, Gretchen, Zachary, Alexis, Paisley and Rebekah; brother, Gary (Anne) Ross, NC; nephews Zachary and Adam Ross.

She was preceded in death by father, Robert Lee Ross, step-father Gerald E. Strength and grandparents, George and Zella Keim.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
