ANITA MURPHY HILLMAN

May 15, 1934 - June 12, 2018

In celebration of Anita’s life, a mass will take place at the Church of Our Saviour on July 28, 2018 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul.

Anita was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Mary Agnes and James Murphy. She grew up in Belle Harbor, NY, and had one sibling, the late James Murphy Jr.

Anita graduated from St.Agnes Seminary, graduated from Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing, and attended St. John’s University.

Anita was a retired RN from Wuesthoff Hospital, and Holmes Regional Medical Center.

Anita was very involved with the community by volunteering with hospice, Literacy of Brevard, Rolling Readers, a Eucharist Minister to the sick, and her passion was volunteering with St Vincent de Paul Society. She was an active member of the Church of Our Saviour in Cocoa Beach.

Anita raised four daughters, Maryanne (Brian) Sellman, Jeanne Murphy, Patricia Hall, and Christine Murphy (Christopher) DeJulio. She became known as “Dolly” to her five grandchildren, Charles (Bianca) Cappello, Jacob (Rachael) Kane, Keelen Murphy, Kathryn (Kalei) Ducheneau, and Kavin Murphy; and to her great grandchildren, Gemma, Redford, Gwen, Locke, Suede, Albee, and three more to be born this year. She was also Aunt Anita to three nieces and four nephews.

Anita “Dolly” will be greatly missed by her loving family, and the many, many friends she made throughout her life. In celebration of Anita’s life, a mass will take place at the Church of Our Saviour on July 28, 2018 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul.
